Chris LeDoux to be honored by statue
Monday, March, 08, 2010 The larger-than-life statue of Chris LeDoux is nearing completion and the date for the monument’s dedication has been set for June 19, 2010 in Kaycee.
The bronze statue titled “Good Ride Cowboy” created by local artist D. Michael Thomas will be the center of festivities that begin Friday, June 18.
Activities will begin with a matched bronc and bareback riding on Friday evening, according to a press release from event organizers. On Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. local musicians will entertain on the deck of the Rusty Spur followed by the unveiling of the statue at 2:30 p.m.
The Western Underground Band featuring Ned LeDoux will play following the dedication followed by the Young Brothers Band performing for a street dance

Monday, March, 05, 2007 The late Chris LeDoux will be honored by a statue that will be the centerpiece of the planned, "Chris LeDoux Memorial Park" in Kaycee, Wyo. D Michael Thomas created the sculpture.
The bronze titled "Good Ride Cowboy" depicts LeDoux's 1976 world championship ride, on Stormy Weather, and further incorporates his love of music, and status as a renowned, and admired singer, songwriter, recording artist replicating his Guild acoustic guitar and strap as the base of the sculpture. The bronze will be 1 1/2 times life size.
