Chris LeDoux still sings about Copenhagen - the snuff, not the city - but he no longer partakes because of his liver transplant in October 2000.
"These anti-rejection drugs they've got me on lower your immune system," he told The Associated Press. "They don't want you to smoke or chew."
He still has the telltale flat round bulge in his shirt pocket, but it's not the real thing. It's the fake stuff for people, like LeDoux, who have quit.
"Don't do nothin' for me," the 52-year-old singer said. "You take a dip of chew, you go something. This stuff is nothing. Don't even taste good."
At his first major concert since his operation, a few chords of the hit song Copenhagen" - which LeDoux recorded with Toby Keith - produced a shower of snuff cans tossed on stage from the crowd Friday night at the Reno Rodeo.
