My Friend Chris
Chris Ledoux had a short, but such a productive life, rising to the top echelons of the two professions he loved the most.
After a distinguished career in Professional Rodeo where he rose to the pinnacle of his event as world champion bronc rider, Chris turned to his other love and pursued a career in music where he once again rose to the top.
Chris was a quiet, unassuming man. Actually a little shy at times, which seems to be a trait of all true cowboys, but when he hit the stage or when they opened the chute, it was pedal to the metal, no holds barred and make it count whether it was an eight second bronc ride or an hour set of music.
I was honored to know Chris for a number of years and shared the recording studio and stage with him on more than one occasion.
Chris personified the things we all admire in a man. He loved his family and shunned the publicity spotlight when it came to his personal life
One thing a lot of people didn’t know about Chris LeDoux, he was a very talented sculptor. I have a bronze piece he gave me that he called “Wild Horse Fit.”
I’ll never forget, we were at a roping arena heading and heeling a few and Chris just drove up and said, “I’ve got something for you Charlie.”
I will always treasure the bronze he gave me that day as I treasure the long friendship of this talented and gentle man.
Hazel, Little Charlie and myself and all The CDB family would like to extend our very deepest condolences to the family of Chris LeDoux. May God comfort and console you.
-Charlie Daniel
